Last Strings E.P. s now sold
There is a new one planned but for now please feel free to download mp3 samples.
The Strings emerged from four piece Southampton band The
View, around June 2004.
Guitarist singer/songwriter Reuben and bass player 'Sbassman'
were experimenting with some new songs as 'Rainmaker' and shortly after Jim then joined to help them
to complete the sound they were looking for.
They began rehearsing as a power trio, quickly fine tuning a mixture of older songs and new material,
and within just a few months they were ready to play their debut gig on 1st December 2004.
By March 2005 they were supporting Tom Hingley (Inspiral Carpets) at Southampton’s prestigious
Joiners venue, and since then have also supported Eugene McGuiness, Dlugokecki and 'Them Is Me' (REEF).
Why The Strings?
"Basically myself and Sbassman used to refer ourselves as
'the strings section' when we were in The View. don't know why I
didn't think of it before!" [Reubs]
